Day 13
Drove to Tranni to see the cathedral and a walk through the village. Had a seafood lunch beside a lovely harbour where fishermen were selling their freshly caught fish.
The cathedral at Tranni, no photos allowed but magnificent on the inside, one chapel above the other and white limestone and large windows showed a different aspect to the many we have seen.
Fishermen bringing their catch in from the morning's fishing, selling to the patrons beside the water at Tranni.
The original church at Tranni before the cathedral.
The seaside near the cathedral at Tranni
A motor bike improved but great for getting past the tourists.
Overlooking the harbour at Tranni.
And again.
Inside the castle
Outside the castle.
Then drove to Castel Del Monte, a Castle which dates back to Frederick II in the 13th century. His family tree was very interesting, showing his 3 wives and numerous lovers and offspring. The castle was large and high and our guide told us many theories about when it was built and where his "harem" slept.
